Dr. Arentoft is currently the Principal Investigator (PI) on an NIH-funded SC2 grant (SC2MH118473) examining health behavior and neuropsychological functioning in HIV+ individuals. She was the PI on 2 recently completed, NIH-funded pilot grants examining changes in neuropsychological functioning and white matter integrity (using diffusion tensor imaging) among HIV+ individuals.

Dr. Arentoft’s research program focuses on neuropsychological functioning and health disparities among underrepresented and disenfranchised populations, particularly in individuals with HIV/AIDS. Her work employs a biopsychosociocultural framework, emphasizing the multifactorial nature of brain-behavior relationships and other health-related outcomes.
